Ok this is late…I know this. I am a terrible person but I have been busy.

Arriving a tad late (fashionably so if my companion Verity of The Vanity Box was to be believed) we opened the doors to be confronted with a mass of women (one gentleman spotted eventually). ReeRee the co-organiser came bounding up to us to hand over badges and cuddles. She was her darling self as ever. With badges pinned to our bosoms we scooted up the stairs to meet friends. A quick perusal from our vantage point we were able to see a lot of the attendees and their antics. I spotted my ‘sort’ of people as in the vintage pinup lovers but I also spotted some fantastically accessorised darlings who balanced the audience.

There were pop up stalls aplenty from hair styling to photobooths to even cake decoratings. Spolit for choice the only logical place for me was to hit the bar. As a downed my cola (yep still not drinking…damn you detox) I was intrigued to get to know some of the ladies about me. Either it was my scary personality (probably) or their shyness (possibly) I didnt get to talk to many. None the less I keep my group of ladies upstairs happy with my sometimes witty (if I do say so myself) outbursts.

Normally I loath going to see burlesque on my days off…that isnt supposed to sound mean but its kind of nice to have an evening without it. ReeRee had organised two performers that night. I neednt have worried I would be bored. One performer was Banbury Cross who I remember from her early performances days at Northampton Picturdrome. Her classical act was delightful and she looked fabulous. Best butt in burlesque?! But for me the star was a performer I had only recently heard of Rubyyy Jones. Her take on the internet infused striptease had me sniggering into my cola…(still not drinking). I recall boyfriends asking me to strip via webcam and I have to say I have NEVER done it but her performance was so funny I could almost see myself in it. I adore her…I may even be a little in love with her. Rubyyy’s comedy was a breath of fresh air for me. Well done.

Anyway I left the event not really networked but with a sense of pride in a friend. ReeRee has worked so hard in all that she does and this event was a testament to that and no doubt just the tip of the iceberg.

PS…I have no images. I was too busy enjoying myself. A sure sign of a great time!
