Bikini Dilemma

Sat in my office today I put on the TV to stop the random blathering of the local radio station. Cue a debate on ITV This Morning about whether or not people namely the over 50s ladies should wear bikinis. Yes I realise in the grand scheme of things this is not exactly the greatest debate that will render the world to a stunned silence but it did mildly annoy me. No it wasnt Nancy Dell’Olio’s casual flirting but it was the fact the young man who felt in the interest of ‘etiquette’ women over 50 should cover up in a swimsuit rather than a bikini. I always thought it was good manners to say nothing mean, judge others so or basically be a twat.

I couldnt help but feel appalled that a programme that constantly talks about loving who we are would not only put this as a topic of discussion but then follow it with a slimming underwear section. Say we are great and then tell us to pull on slimming wear. BAH!

Admittedly Eammon said he likes all women whatever their shape but gah! I’d rather see a happy woman rocking a look she was 100% comfortable in, than lay down laws what she can and cant wear.

I dont mind rocking a bikini…I am a size 16, 27yrs old and proud to say my momma also rocks a bikini who is slimmer than me but only a tad bit older (28 right mom?). I aint gonna judge. It takes a lot to stand there in what is technically little more than brightly coloured lingerie. So I am not going to be the one to say HELL NO GIRLFRIEND. Make sure you are just wearing the right size. Support those boobs. My bikini below..wasnt.

Me. Unphotoshopped, pasty white,  in Australia (2010?), no makeup and grimicing like an idiot. I dont mind it. I dont love it but it was my choice to buy it, wear it and post this pic.

Bouncing Bewbies

As the more well endowed in the boob (tit, titties, titty bojangles, wangers, chebs, upper bolloxs)  area of most of my friends, when it comes to swimwear there is NO way we can shop in the same places.

I need more support to keep my girls from popping out and blocking the sun, I dont need teeny tiny bikini bottoms that my arse eats the moment I walk. I need good supportive swimwear, even if it is only for posing on the sun lounger in.

Hunting over the years and determined to not look like my nana I know know what I need. I need a fitted bikini top, preferably straps as some halters can result in neck ache due to the weight of my wangers and I need to be able to buy bottoms in my size. No XL or XXL for this lady. One size does not fit top and bottom. Nope. If I want a swimsuit, I want it to look hot on me and works with my shape.

From ‘One Stop Plus’. Love this tankini (matching bottoms available)! Its on trend, its very pinup chic and its a STEAL at £24!!! sizes 12-26.

From Marisota by ‘Curvy Kate’. Cant go wrong with some leopard print! Available in cup sizes so this bikini is perfect. The top is £32 and the bottoms are £17.

Panache for Debenhams. Bring on the sassy! I am in love! Hot pink bikinis in my size! Top is £23.25 and the bottoms are £13.87

Love this! Yes it is a halter but I love it. In sizes up to 16! Snip at £28. From Tesco no less.

Now we just need some sunshine. That said I hear Skegness is nice….
