A keen advocate of using local independent businesses as much as possible I decided to set up a networking event for such businesses in Aylesbury.

The event itself went well with already lots more interest for the next one. But it did also see some people feel the need to invite me to their events too. I am flattered to be honest to be asked but 100% of those events I was invited to were ‘for women by women’. Why?! If men did this it would be sexiest surely? I cant help but feel its all a tad gimicky. Some female only events I have attended have been awesome and I loved them…but forgive my ignorance but I would rather learn from a successful anyone rather than a specific gender group. Am I wrong to feel slightly patronised by this?
